Private Labels alone do not justify a high price. Qualities of a garment that do justify price would be the quality of construction, the selection of fabrics (both inner and outer), and the detail of design. These three details in a garment make a far better purchase for the end consumer then merely a label for label's sake. Additional expenses for stores like big budget advertising, high rents and fast inventory turn over means greater costs that are passed onto you to pay for in the purchase price. Stay ahead of this cost cycle by considering shopping alternatives to buy the right clothes for you. Learn how to identify quality construction. Take a look inside a garment. Notice if the inner garment and lining seams have been serged or bound, or have they been cut which could allow for fraying during the cleaning process? Is all hardware and trim affixed securely? or you may find yourself searching high and low for replacements. Do the fabrics selected have compatible qualities for cleaning and pressing? Remember that design simplicity will last longer in your wardrobe than trendy ornamentation. When selecting your shopping locations, be a savvy consumer and find out the store's and or manufacturer's policies. Although as the consumer you are ultimately responsible for your own selections, keep a handy file for all of your receipts in the event of manufacturer's defect.
